Paycheck Calculator

About Paycheck Calculator

Paycheck Calculator shows what you actually take home from your pay, after federal income tax, state income tax, Social Security, and Medicare. Enter a salary or hourly wage, pick your state and filing status, and see your real per-paycheck and annual numbers instantly.

Every state, both pay types

The calculator covers all 50 states plus Washington, D.C., including the nine states with no wage income tax, flat-tax states, and fully progressive states. It works for salaried and hourly jobs, and for weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, or monthly pay schedules.

See where your money goes

A breakdown chart splits your gross pay into take-home, federal tax, state tax, and FICA (Social Security and Medicare), with your effective tax rate. Add a 401(k) percentage or other pre-tax deductions to see how saving changes your paycheck and your taxes.

Current tax rates

Calculations use 2026 federal tax brackets, the 2026 standard deduction, the 2026 Social Security wage base, and current state income-tax rates. Figures are estimates: they don't include local income taxes, state-specific deductions and credits, or every individual circumstance; your actual withholding also depends on your W-4.

Private and free

Every calculation runs locally in your browser. Nothing you enter (salary, state, deductions) is uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere. No sign-up, nothing to install. For details on the cookies used by advertising, see our Privacy Policy.
